Lamar C. Brown is an attorney, lobbyist, proven strategist, and accomplished executive known for his expertise in both the public and private sectors. As the founder and principal of the Law Offices of Lamar C. Brown, LLC., he leads a boutique law practice specializing in real estate,
corporate, and election law and serves as an appointed Hearing Officer for the Cook County
Electoral Board. Additionally, Lamar is a certified mediator for small claims disputes in state court, demonstrating his commitment to problem-solving with fairness and integrity.
Lamar previously held a pivotal role at Lyft, Inc., where he served as the driving force behind
community strategy and outreach throughout the Central United States—championing Lyft’s policy reforms and advancing its mission. Throughout his career he has worked alongside many elected officials and on several state and local electoral campaigns. Notably, he served as Political Director for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s successful reelection campaign and served as Director of Intergovernmental and Community Affairs for Chicago City Clerk Anna
Valencia. At twenty-five, his career in government began when he was appointed the Chicago
City Council as the Deputy Sergeant-At-Arms.
Complementing his political engagements, Lamar actively serves on boards such as Cabrini
Green Legal Aid, demonstrating his dedication to justice and community welfare. Furthermore, he has been appointed by Governor J.B. Pritzker to the Illinois Military Economic Development Committee. Lamar’s commitment to public service extends beyond his professional
achievements. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., exemplifying his passion for uplifting communities and fostering positive change.
With more than a decade of experience in government relations, politics, law, and policy, Lamar recognizes that true progress lies in finding common ground rather than focusing on our differences. Guided by a people-centered approach, he believes that our collective efforts will
shape a better society for all.
Lamar holds a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. He
also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University.
